Friday favorites

I hope you all had a nice week! Mine was filled with office work, but tonight we play a concert in Malmo (yay!)
This week I’ve been listening to a lot of Regina Spektor. She’s so inspiring. Her songs are like little worlds to get lost in. The stories, her use of rhythm in how she sings and pronounces words, sometimes even makes up sounds… Her lyrics are so crazy and touching at the same time. And she can do anything with her voice. Some people really can do it all!
Here are a couple of my favorites:

I love the image of the artworks in museums trying to escape…

Very different vibe from her other songs, I like the sound on this one.

And again a crazy story to get lost into. (Despite the bleak atmosphere, I think if futuristic humans are still writing songs and poetry things are gonna be alright :))

I wish you all a wonderful weekend!

Sweetest illusion on YouTube

Sweetest illusion is another song I wrote when I was 17 years old, and I’m so happy to finally have a good recording of it!

It started out as a little acoustic thing, but things got kind of out of hand in the studio and I now jokingly call it my “Eurovision song” πŸ™‚

Here’s the lyric video of it (subscribe on YouTube to follow along with the newest uploads!)

Friday favorites

I hope you all had aΒ  nice week (so far) and that you’re ready for the weekend πŸ™‚ I thought it would be nice to start a little series of sorts here on the blog.Β  And I was thinking about all the songs I like, and all the musicians and the albums… and then I got this idea of starting a little post that I could repeat weekly, where I share some of these favorites with you. I always like to hear what other people listen to, what gets them all excited and happy, what makes their hearts feel full and alive and makes their eyes light up… So I’m looking to share the things that make me feel like that with you. I hope you like the idea and that you will follow along!

Now to get started… This month I have a daily commute of 2 hours and I find it the perfect time to discover some new music. The first nice discovery I made was this one-man-band called “A part of”. I got into his music through his Instagram account. I headed over to Soundcloud to hear more of his songs and now I’m hooked! This one is my favorite so far (even though it’s hard to pick just one favorite, they’re all so different and I like all of them!) Great melodies, poetic lyrics (“could things be better in the space between the colors of the rainbow” is one beautiful example) and innovative, original songwriting. So glad I discovered him!

The second “new” artist I got into is The tallest man on earth, who is apparently a Swedish singer-songwriter that I somehow never heard of until now (shame!) He sounds exactly like Bob Dylan and I have his album “The wild hunt” on constant repeat.

How beautiful is his song “Like the wheel”? I tear up every time I hear that last line… His lyrics are just amazing.

I hope you enjoyed these! I’ll be back with more favorites next Friday (and in the meantime… I’ll send some more lyric videos your way via YouTube)

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,

“It’s you” on YouTube (lyric video)

Welcome to my next lyric video! This one is for “it’s you”, the 3rd track on my album. This song is extra special to me because it’s the first one I ever wrote. I was 17, experiencing heartache for the first time, and the whole song just came out as I was fiddling on my guitar in my attic bedroom. So through that pretty gloomy experience I discovered something delightful: songwriting! So thanks, seventeen year old anonymous blue eyed heart breaker… πŸ˜‰

“Ghosts”, lyric video (YouTube)

Here is another installment in my series of lyric videos on YouTube! I hope you enjoy it… “Ghosts” is the second track of my album, and it was a lot of fun to record. The creaky door in the beginning was the door in the studio that would groan whenever we needed SILENCE. But then when we thought: “Hey, we could actually use a squeaky door sound on this one…” it took us three tries before we got a peep out of it. Ghosts in the studio, I tell you! πŸ™‚

Album release!

I’m very happy to announce that from today you can buy the full album on

and virtually any other digital outlet! (Spotify! Pandora! Deezer! Napster! Yaaaay!) Also, Soundcloud.

I’m so excited! I hope you will enjoy my music πŸ™‚

“Come on over here” on YouTube

Over the next couple of weeks I will be sharing the tracks of my album, “Love is love” with you on YouTube! Here is the first song of the album. It’s called “Come on over here” and it was one of the most fun tracks to record ever! (I think/ hope you can hear that πŸ™‚ ) It had Daniel playing the violin like a real fiddler, me enjoying the catchy choruses and all three of us clapping.

The funny thing is when I wrote it I had my guitar tuned in an alternative way and I had these really different sounding chords for it… But then during a party at our place someone must have re-tuned that guitar, because the next time I wanted to play it to make a little demo, it was back to a standard tuning! And I couldn’t remember the chords from before (because I didn’t remember what the “weird” tuning was). Aaaah! So I sang the melody and came up with different chords for it, and it transformed the song from something quite melancholic sounding to… well, THIS! I’m very happy with the result, so I guess whoever tuned that guitar back then was right πŸ˜‰

I hope you enjoy!

“Love is love” single on iTunes, Spotify and Amazon!

You can now buy the first single of the album on iTunesΒ  and Amazon, and/ or listen to it on Spotify!

It’s also available on Google Play and pretty much any other digital outlet or streaming service (Rhapsody, Deezer, 24-7, Tidal, Pandora…)

Hope you enjoy! The full album will be available in digital form very soon and in CD-format by the end of March πŸ™‚ Can’t wait to finally share it with all of you!

Love is love single

Dear patient people!

Since the album is taking a little longer to wrap up, I thought today would be a good day to share some audio with you. “Love is love”, the album’s title song, will come out as the first single of the album in a couple of days, but I made a YouTube video for it so you can enjoy it there for free from today already. Hope you enjoy…

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Album preview!

It’s been forever since I updated this little blog of mine… I’ve been busy with orchestra work and moving into our new flat. But now something exciting is happening again on the album front, so definitely share-worthy: the first mixes of my album are in!

I guess my face says it all? (Lucille, on the other hand, seems to have her own thoughts about the whole thing.)

Stay tuned for more updates!
