Love is love music video (teaser ;))

This little love story is sailing your way… Estimated arrival: this Valentine’s Day!

(So excited to share the full music video with you in less than a week! And so thankful for the wonderful talents of animator Elina Spura for bringing my song to life with her beautiful drawings. Love love love!)

Concert in Brussels July 27th!

Welcome to the release concert of my first album, “love is love”, tomorrow in the center of Brussels in Boom café (rue Plétinckx 7) at 19h! Looking forward to sharing my music with you…

“The longer the note, the more dread”

This made me laugh so hard. “The longer the note, the more dread.” From “The peep show”, one of my favorite TV series. Check it out if you don’t know it, you might get hooked.

Friday Favorites

So I got a little behind on the upkeep of this “favorites” section… But here are a couple of things that I enjoyed these last two weeks:

First, how delightful is this? Makes me wanna go out and buy a whole bunch of kid’s instruments to experiment with, so fun.

Second, I’ve been on a Radiohead roll. It’s great music for getting lost in while walking around the city. Outwardly I look like a functioning adult, grocery shopping, but inside of my ears, this is going on:

Have a great weekend!

Annasara, concert in Malmö

Here’s a little video of one of the songs we played last week during Annasara‘s concert last Friday! This is her song “Salzburg” and I hope you enjoy it 🙂 (It was quite fun to play bass and sing backing vocals at the same time!)

You can also find Annasara on Spotify (and I can assure you all her songs are amazing), so go check her out if you haven’t already!

Friday favorites: Jethro Tull, the string quartets

And now for something completely different! This week I’ve been listening to “Jethro Tull, the string quartets”, the new album of Ian Anderson/ Jethro Tull. I like it! Old favorites refreshingly re-thought and recorded with (duh) string quartet. Sometimes also with Ian singing, playing the flute…

When I was small, there was always Jethro Tull playing in the background because my dad is a huge fan 🙂 So this music makes me very happy and takes me back in time.

Friday favorites

I hope you all had a nice week! Mine was filled with office work, but tonight we play a concert in Malmo (yay!)
This week I’ve been listening to a lot of Regina Spektor. She’s so inspiring. Her songs are like little worlds to get lost in. The stories, her use of rhythm in how she sings and pronounces words, sometimes even makes up sounds… Her lyrics are so crazy and touching at the same time. And she can do anything with her voice. Some people really can do it all!
Here are a couple of my favorites:

I love the image of the artworks in museums trying to escape…

Very different vibe from her other songs, I like the sound on this one.

And again a crazy story to get lost into. (Despite the bleak atmosphere, I think if futuristic humans are still writing songs and poetry things are gonna be alright :))

I wish you all a wonderful weekend!

Sweetest illusion on YouTube

Sweetest illusion is another song I wrote when I was 17 years old, and I’m so happy to finally have a good recording of it!

It started out as a little acoustic thing, but things got kind of out of hand in the studio and I now jokingly call it my “Eurovision song” 🙂

Here’s the lyric video of it (subscribe on YouTube to follow along with the newest uploads!)

Friday favorites

I hope you all had a  nice week (so far) and that you’re ready for the weekend 🙂 I thought it would be nice to start a little series of sorts here on the blog.  And I was thinking about all the songs I like, and all the musicians and the albums… and then I got this idea of starting a little post that I could repeat weekly, where I share some of these favorites with you. I always like to hear what other people listen to, what gets them all excited and happy, what makes their hearts feel full and alive and makes their eyes light up… So I’m looking to share the things that make me feel like that with you. I hope you like the idea and that you will follow along!

Now to get started… This month I have a daily commute of 2 hours and I find it the perfect time to discover some new music. The first nice discovery I made was this one-man-band called “A part of”. I got into his music through his Instagram account. I headed over to Soundcloud to hear more of his songs and now I’m hooked! This one is my favorite so far (even though it’s hard to pick just one favorite, they’re all so different and I like all of them!) Great melodies, poetic lyrics (“could things be better in the space between the colors of the rainbow” is one beautiful example) and innovative, original songwriting. So glad I discovered him!

The second “new” artist I got into is The tallest man on earth, who is apparently a Swedish singer-songwriter that I somehow never heard of until now (shame!) He sounds exactly like Bob Dylan and I have his album “The wild hunt” on constant repeat.

How beautiful is his song “Like the wheel”? I tear up every time I hear that last line… His lyrics are just amazing.

I hope you enjoyed these! I’ll be back with more favorites next Friday (and in the meantime… I’ll send some more lyric videos your way via YouTube)

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend,
